Hi , i'm not a massive watch fan but i have lost the ring part that covers the glass part & main watch part, please excuse my ignorance but i have no idea what this part is called, it's like a split ring key ring that goes round the circumference on the watch face.

i really do not want to take it back to Tissot or jewellers because i guess they will send it away at a great expense.

It's a Tissot T 055417 A , it's only £250.00 watch but i do miss it not being n my wrist.

Any advice finding the part would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks.

Not sure if the bezel will be available to any one other than Tissot service.

They won't sell it to you.
Suggest a PM to Variomatic, or trying to see if Cousins will add the part to their list and sell you one.

Can you explain what exactly has gone? That model doesn't seem to have a rotating bezel so I'm guessing you mean the whole front of the case (bezel ring + glass) has come off? But I wouldn't have described that as a "split ring" - it's a solid steel bezel.

If it is the whole bezel then it's almost certainly going to be a case of back to Tissot because they've been restricting more and more case parts, and bumping the price on those that are available to absurd levels. The crown on that model now has a COST price of about £50 - similar (or better) quality and construction ones from other brands are generally under £20.

But, like all of Swatch, they're intent on forcing owners into their repair network and inflating parts prices for the parts they don't withhold completely is just another way to do that.

A photo of the watch as it is might help, in case I've misunderstood what's missing smile

Do you have a photograph? A simple steel bezel should be easy enough to manufacture for a watchmaker with a Schaublin/whatever, but It'd be a fair chunk of the value of the watch. Might be an idea to try & track down a watchmaker with Swatch Group support who could get a direct replacement, but I have a feeling that they won't be getting a bezel cheap either.

Many thanks I really appreciate the help

just off of mtg I-phone

It's definitely a bezel i've been told.it doesn't have to be a tissot bezel but then again i wouldn't know if another make would fit, Timpsons have quoted me £86.00 , seems very expensive for a watch i only paid £250 ish for,

Ok, it's the bezel. I thought the glass was mounted in the bezel on those - obviously not! If you can wait a few days I'll ping my suppliers and see if it's available separate from the case.

See a LOT worse than that most days. The ones you do worry about are when you have to peel fully cured leather away before you can fit a case opener!
