Recently I have noticed my 98 XJR has changed its sound.
The car has a CATS back stainless exhaust and its been on for 5 years and done 15k miles.

It has always had an occasional pop which is fine, however now its more often and it sounds just a bit "blowy" and spluttery, performance seems fine so I am scratching my head a little.....

Anyone got any suggestions please ?

Maybe there is less volume of air taken in the warm weather (hot air is not as dense as cold) so maybe the air/ fuel is incorrect (too rich)? I am not rocket scientist..in fact, unemployed and I am sure someone with some sense will give the correct answer....

Is is actually... blowing?

Block both pipes with yours and somebody elses hand while the engine is idling. You should get an instantenous build up of pressure and no change of sound. If you don't much or any pressure and get a change of sound then yes you have a exhaust blow somewhere.
