Really they wanted some good news to counter the recent bad news.

If 10,000 leave, there will be street parties.
I don't think the nation would be in mourning if the whole lot of them moved out

Dear family.

Send us a postcard, let us know how you are getting on, not that we really give a fk to be honest, but we could do with a good laugh.

ta

PS hope the cancer treatment in Syria works out, we've given your place in the queue to someone who likes us, hope that is OK.

I hope they all fking go. Can we not just put on scheduled flights for these people? No charge for it, just turn up, hand your passport over and we will drop you in the desert or in whichever st hole you desire. Country would be better off for it.

Back to the dark ages? It could be argued, SPS, that that is precisely where they have travelled to.

You do have a valid point there tbh.
However for over 400 years most of the European/Middle Eastern Caliphates where the most tolerant & advanced states in the world.
Not anymore I'm sorry to say.

According to several sources, they've definitely gone to join IS. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-33393628

Perhaps but what was considered enlightened and tolerant during period 800-1250AD isn't really what we want in a modern society the issue is they haven't moved forward and are stuck in some sort of medieval age with smart phones.

If people want to go then I don't want to stop them, I'd rather they take their views and lifestyle and live elsewhere.

Blimey! Just read the family's statement from the DM link.

"so called freedom and democracy that was forced down our throat in the attempt to brainwash Muslims"

"That regardless of being born and bred in the west, the epitome of democracy, our Islam was not washed away? And despite the totalitarian rules that are in place, Muslims are still awaking to their obligations"

That's a worrying state of mind for sure.

100% agree, if they want to go, let them, in fact help them on their way. However we need to ensure that they are not allowed to return, passing on their newly acquired ideals and skills !!

they (muslims who travel to 'islamic state') clearly regard it as some kind of utopia. I reckon they daydream of a land of milk & honey. Its a bit of a mental disease, I suppose. Wonder how long before reality of life in a sthole dawns? A year or two maybe.

This is quite significant I would have thought as all the previous cases of muslims going over to Syria to expand ISIS have been advertised as being radicalised by the ISIS propaganda.
This family have seemingly made it clear that they went to join ISIS happily in their own free will.

It might (or might not) be a worrying insight in to a branch of our British population, in that they may feel much more sympathetic to the ISIS cause without needing a requirement to be 'radicalised' beforehand.

To encourage other nutters to bugger off?

Good riddance to them, is the ISIS health system any good considering one of them has cancer? hehe

I am truly baffled.......
When one looks at this happy family photograph who would ever imagine that such an obviously well integrated family that have fully adopted the culture of the U.K.would embark on a journey that took them to the Islamic State in Syria.
