Noticed a lot of water dripping from my Monaro this evening, which I eventually located as coming from the hole below. Am I right in thinking that this is just the air con evaporator drain & nothing to worry about? It was clear water and definitely not coolant.

This leads on to problem #2 - in my haste to check it wasn't another coolant leak, I broke the bonnet release cable. Is there any way to open the bonnet that doesn't involve the words "force", "break" or "expensive"? If not, a trip to Monkfish beckons...

yep that's from the aircon. There should be gallons of the stuff pouring out in this weather!
Sorry not sure about the snapped cable.

Only a suggestion are you able to take the sump cover off and trim around it and reach up with your hand ? Second option it cables snapped in foot well area would pliers work , I'm trying to think what if any access there is from the front as I know cv8 grill is screwed in at the top of it , other option would be part undo the bumper at the front and see how much flex you have the cv8 bumper are screws in the front of the wheel arches hope that helps , if you are any where near me then bring it down

I pulled out at least 12 inches of cable from the release lever end, so too far to get in with pliers unfortunately. Booked into Monkfish now, so hopefully they'll be able to attack it underneath with minimal fuss.

Fluids are all topped up, so hopefully I can last the next 2 weeks without needing to open the bonnet.
