Such lovely stuff they produce. Good luck with it all, I'm sure it'll be good fun.

Agreed!
I'm tending to like the powder blue or this grey in the photo, with a bright interior

That colour / shade manages to look both classy and classic / timeless at the same time. Love it and combined with an orange/brown interior would be quite a thing of beauty yes

This is good news, because I do have a track record of purchasing your cast off vehicles. wink

The Singer Gallery is a great starting point I'd have to go Green or Silver exterior and Brown or Lobster interior.

TEXAS (Green exterior)

NEW YORK (Grey exterior)

DUBAI (Racing Interior) - but either more brown or lobster
Love that green and those buckets Yum!

Wow! Huge congratulations! For those of us without a hope of ever being able to afford one, it's great to have guys buying them into the UK so that we'll be able to see them, and awesome that you share the details of the process on here, as I'm just we're all fascinated!

I really don't know what I'd do colour wise, would be torn between going with something "interesting" and something subtle to let the shape do the talking! I'd love to see one in a really deep inky blue... no idea if that exists, I should really go check on their gallery!

Well done OP

Might be a silly question but when they run out of 964s and it seems they like the flaired rear, considering what these cost, could they convert the 993 into one?

To me, the front of an earlier 911 and the suspension and rear of the 993, on paper at least seems like a good idea.

Cheers!

Just spent a couple of hours with Paul from Furlongers who are working with Singer in the UK on sales. He brought a huge box of material and colour samples.
So far we have put a few specs together, gulf blue with a two tone interior, and a light pastel gray and an ivory with shades of red/purple and houndstooth interior. Various details on weaved vs smooth leather, where is carpeted, etc. All the cars have the Porsche stickers on the outside rather than badges, and are 4.0 coupes with big brakes, 6 speed and LSD and the carbon bucket seats. Singer are able to produce detailed renders and so I'll put a few up when I get them. They offer 72 colours for the exterior but you can also do paint to sample so there is anything you like. We've gone for some carpet and leather options that aren't in the sample box but I am sure they can do those too. We got down to geeky details too, like do I want exposed bolt heads on the fuchs-style alloys or not. Fantastic!

Thanks.
Not sure about the 993 question as they have done all their work on the 964. I think Rob's feeling is the 993 introduced the multi link rear suspension and he prefers the 911-ness of the trailing arm. Anyway, they produce such a small number of cars I doubt it makes a lot of difference to the 964 market. I would expect Singer to be working on other variants at some point though.

Sure - but what is the right money? Don't forget, I spent it all in California so I am penniless and to be taken great pity on, but I do do amazing passenger rides smile

What an achingly beautiful car. Where do you start with specifying such a thing? The options are so numerous that you would have to take a very long time with colour samples, materials and renderings to even begin to define "your car". What a journey to take.

Not sure if I'm understanding what you've said ? You're aware the Singer isn't based based on the wide/Turbo body, but a narrow body 964 C2, to which Rob's team graft on the flared carbon fibre rear quarter panels/arches, roof, front wings, bonnet and engine cover.

I know you're a 993 owner, but like Rob, I've come to the same conclusion, that being the 964's rear trailing arm suspension set up is far more "original" 911, and makes for a more honest/fun drive.
Yes I know it starts as a NB 964 and then they 'flair' it. I was just wondering if the same could be done to the 993 when and if the 964 C2 becomes so rare (not just because of Singer , but because of so many 964s being back dated generally in the last few years) that there are not enough cars still around to convert. Maybe then they would go for the 3.2 if that became the case? I have no idea. I can't really see why a 993 couldn't be used and I quite like the thought of one, and if memory serves the 993 bonnet, roof and possibly the doors are the same as the 964 so some of the carbon parts are already there.

I was also once a 964 owner, it has nothing to do with the fact I am now a 993 owner.. It was purely a rhetorical question.

Love Indonesia and Sonoma.

Last time I looked at that site I think they only had 3 or 4 examples. They are all fantastic.

Oh sorry, you were being rhetorical ? I was just being polite, the 993 rear suspension is completely rubbish ??
As for using the 993 platform as a basis for future Singers ?
Well us 964 owners got rather bored of 993 owners telling us the later car was superior, a future classic and our cars were the unwanted ginger, b*stard love child car that no one wanted. Now they're in short supply it seems. How times change ??
I really have no idea why your on a soap box about this ....

Bookmarked.

I haven't seen a bad example yet - all simply amazing. The craftmanship is beautiful to behold.

I'd have a really deep navy blue, something with a lot of depth to it, with bronze or gold wheels. Or silver. Or Antracite. Or Black. You get the idea.

Glad to hear that you couldn't care less about values either - as clichéd as it is, life is far too short - enjoy the experience for us and enjoy the car I'm rude health. Oh and please keep us updated as much as possible!
