Continuing Rebuild - updates!
Discussion
Hi all,
Well after a successful journey to Portsmouth and an enjoyable catch up with PompeyTim, Richard at Southways has had my chassis blasted - couple of pictures below (thanks Rich!!)
Chassis is pretty much as expected - main issues are in the outriggers and work needed to the rear beam. Good news, is the main backbone and top sections are in good condition...PHEW
There have been a couple of previous bodges - 1 to the passenger side outrigger which I knew about, and one to the rear upright which I definitely didn't!!! I'm sure that will be looking MUCH neater by the time Rich has finished with it
I've been continuing with the engine (sorry no pics). Lots of cleaning last weekend using PhilPots excellent advice and continuing to strip down. Need to get the timing cover off to sort it out (it's really manky). Got 1/2 the pulley off but have had to order a removal tool to get the rest off. Ordered several different POR15 products last week, so that should help make it look a bit prettier!
Cheers for now,
Andrew
