Where to buy short lengths of imperial mild steel tube
Discussion
Long ago when I worked in the chemical industry BS 1387 was one of the standards covering mild steel tubing.
If that range is still available, a 3/4 inch nominal bore tube 1 1/16 inch OD, with a wall thickness of 0.104 inches, would be pretty close to what you want. 1.0625 - (2 x 0.104) = 0.8545 inches ID. That's a bit less than your 7/8 inch ID, but it might do.
