I've seen a house just go on the 'to let' market that I've admired for some time, would it be crazy to enquire if the owner would consider selling? Is it even the done thing?

If the house is on the rental market for £850 unfurnished, any idea what the value would be?

250 or so, depends on location.

Hmmm... friend is talking about BTL in scotland and reckoned he could get £100k property to be £500 a month, that was in Glasgow.

Will believe that when I see it and sign myself up for a few.

Who was the guy here, Groak or something similar?

He owned half the druggie inhabited benefit funded bedsits up there, his returns were way, way, above that.

Was he not done for some dodgy dealing (sorry Groak if not you) and has since disappeared off PH as he's currently in the crap.

Don't think so, he had a membership refund for being a little too enthusiastic in the football forum.

Would it be crazy? No. Why would it be? Is it the done thing? Who the hell cares? If you want to buy the house, ask if they'll sell you it. Worse that can happen is they say no.

Don't need to go to Scotland for that sort of return, it's only a 6% yeild. £100k houses can be had in Corby, along with many other towns outside the SE, and return £500-£600 p/m.

I'm looking to buy a BTL round Long Eaton/Beeston in Notts and houses for 95-110k are letting for 500-550 pcm
