Well I have just had a right to-do in my garage this evening - cut a long story short I had to move the car into the road and work on it there!

I'll fill you all in at the bar tomorrow/saturday. I can see the funny side now...

Anyhow most major jobs done - new dizzy cap and arm on there (both the right height) and the new CTS fitted, tried my backup ECU which runs super-rich and hardly idles but might be a last resort to get the car moving if all else fails.

Only thing that didn't arrive are the new spark plugs but hopefully they will be here tomorrow morning. If not that can wait.

Also I adjusted my droopy exhaust tail which now sticks out square. Nice.

And I found some of that foaming wheel cleaner so the OZ's are mostly clean ;^)

The refurbed dash panel is back in but I need to stick the piping surround back on. Might do that when I get there.

I've got two spare sets of NGK plugs if you need a set Saturday. I can't be acensoreded setting the gaps on an existing set so buy new, check the gaps and fit.

One good turn - you did give me the aerial last year so a set is yours.

Keith your old set are doing the business. My new set didn't turn up anyway so just got the paypal refund.

Tony did you say you can get plugs cheap? If so where from I will order a set now to put in stock for a couple of years time.

I wasn't sure how much I paid for my set when I met you at the fest but I just checked my fleewbay records and the ones I bought were NGK item number 230656017268. Set of eight comes to just under 20 squids. I don't know if that's cheap enough for you.

I paid £24.90 for my last set off flea, including delivery so less than £20 sounds good. Glad to hear the old set is working fine Adam. Either of you heading up to the TVR-CC 50th weekend?

I won't be able to make it to the 50th either, because of work commitments. Have a nice one.

Don't buy cheap parts...Always extend to what you can afford, Especially around the ignition areas!...I found with the BPR7ES that they were a bit on the cold side and fouled up a bit after around 6 months....Then i tried the BPR5ES, They were too hot and caused me some pinking and did notice the plugs looked a bit lean...(One of the reasons i fitted an adjustable FPR)...Also more often if i used 95ron.

I have now opted for the BPR6EIX iridium plugs as they are in the middle of the temperature range and i find them good for winter and summer use, They always burn normal but are predominantly clean...Which shows they are burning fuel more efficiently.

The iridium plugs are around £60 which sounds expensive but they are guaranteed for 30,000 miles, Normally i would change the plugs each year when changing oil, Filter and leads.....But these just need a light clean and gap check.

Probably better for your air breather but as mine is supercharged I'll stick with the '7's for the moment (as per Dennis Priddle's spec sheet).

Yes defo...You have much more air going in so want a colder plug..I can't remember the ones i needed for Delilah when she was supercharged...I know they were £12 each ..And could only be bought in packs of 12....They were a bosch plug that Power engineering used on the blown V6 Sierra's....I think the heat range was 10...eek..Normal plugs would melt
