Next Friday I'm driving to Beligium for a new exhaust on the Boxster - we are stopping in Bruges that night (at the garage the next afternoon) so have a night and a morning there.

Wheres good to eat that night and breakfast next day - staying at hotel in the centre so anywhere near the middle would suit.

If you don't want 5star dining then here is good food and good value.
http://www.ribsnbeer.com/index.php/en/
25 Euro 3 courses eat as much as you can ribs.
5 minutes walk from the main square.
Or if you want a small local place
http://www.bistroprodeo.be/#_=_
The wife works the tables while the husband does the cooking
if you go to either on a Friday or Saturday booking is best.
Both on Tripadvisor

We had a good raclette here: http://www.wijnbarest.be/

And this is always popular but you'll have to book: http://www.cambrinus.eu/default.htm

And if you're going to do some chocolate buying, there's only one place! http://www.thechocolateline.be/en/locations/pp/bru...

For breakfast, if your accommodation doesn't do anything then don't plan anything but walk to the main square and there are some waffle and pancake places on Wollestraat near Beerwall

Last time I was in Bruges, there was a kebab-van type that sold something called a Bicky Burger. We were very drunk, and no-one could explain to us what it actually was... However, it was quite nice! biggrin

Ate there once - food was excellent, and building impressive. Best to book as it was full.

Tom's Diner, West Gistelhof 23 tel 050333382 www.tomsdiner.be
Or
Poules Moules (close to Tom's)

You will need to book both. Both do a good lunch. The locals eat here.

Not difficult to park nearby; some places close to the canal.

Bistro t' Lammetje

Very pleasant, Flemish beef stew is a must.
