Exhaust on the X50 wasnt different, but the exhaust tips are - maybe thats whyt there is a level of confusion??
Nope, the chrome quad tips were a cost option, completely separate from the X50 option

Yip, my X50 has oval tips. Thinking about changing them though?

Exhaust was different on an X50 car, it was the same as 996GT2

As for the gearbox having steel synchro rings on 1st and 2nd that is not true either as they are standard rings as used in 996 turbo and GT2 gearboxes. They have a different crown wheel and pinion shaft (same ratio 31:9)

I am not disagreeing with you as I don't know, but I find it odd that Porsche don't mention this anywhere in their brochures/option lists - how was the GT2 exhaust different?

Do you have any official Porsche confirmation that X50 option included changes to exhaust?

Well the GT2 had bigger turbos than the standard turbo car for a start. Guessing maybe the X50s turbos were different to the standard items too perhaps?

X50 turbos are different as they are K24 units whilst (same as GT2) standard 996 turbo cars run K16 turbo chargers. Same exhaust stud pattern for mounting.

Exhaust has X50 option code in parts system, same as GT2. Another number listed for standard 996 turbo cars.

I'm guessing none of them come with the turbo actuator rod adjustment welding in place as standard? wink

I know, I was asking about the exhaust, but S&C has kindly confirmed via parts number difference
