Looking for a decent size parasol for above the patio area, but its not going in the middle of a table as we just have a sofa and small coffee table there. Needs to be stood independently, but after having a cantilever parasol snap on me, i'm reluctant to bother with another one. Any recommendations for something 3m or greater in size that wont require a huge base, or snap in the slightest of breeze? I had looked at sails, but they are a bit limited in that they cant be moved to cover shade when required.

Get a Sun Garden cantilever. We've had ours for about 8yrs and it's still in perfect condition. Ze German's really do make some good stuff!

It's expensive (relatively speaking), but you really do get what you pay for. And you won't need to buy another!

I've given up with parasols - unless you spend ££££ they are st.

Just ordered one of these instead!

Ended up buying from IKEA, not a cantilever though.

I'd have bought one of those Coleman event shelters if I could anchor it on the deck but needed something that wouldn't blow away!

I'm sure a couple of coach bolts on each corner would have done the job!

We've got an IKEA cantilever one. Can't fault it really...

Event shelter has arrived and is pitched - it's huge!!

Feels and looks really well made, it's like having another room outside! Kids and the dog are going to love it.
