i did use the canteen, you dont happen to be Mr Horn do you? spotted the chevy a couple times now! awesome big thing!
yep, you got me but the only people to call me Mr are the police LOL. Jim's the name but it's Wilma's Chevy anyway.....until it needs petrol or work done. She's owned that car since May 1993!
I do most of the ethanol deliveries and have intimate knowledge of that crazy fecked up system, as it's usually me who diagnoses a problem and lets them who should know more than me know what's wrong with it. LOL

as for the ethanol skid in its entirety, lets just not go into that!

cant wait till tomorrow to see a picture of this el camino unloaded!

Steven, I found that out last night as I mentioned you to Wilma and she told me you have often been Dani's taxi. In the box are a less glamorous Dodge maintenance truck and a '59 Chevy Apache stepside pickup. Just heading off to unload now, after all this build up, I'm stting it LOL

Followed quickly by:

"Fired right up and sounds excellent. Floors look like new from ground level. Looks better than expected.."

He's going to get it on ramps later but it's looking good so far smile

99t, what an amazing story, you're right the before does make up a wonderful chapter. I can empathize with how you're feeling having gone through almost the same when I imported my Skyline from Japan. That wait is excruciating! I found the bit in the UK the worst as I knew the car was only a train ride away... Echo the previous posters, we definitely need pics smile

Jim, do you get many ro-ro's coming out of the USA to Europe? I'm quite interested in the reason not to use them as the importers of my car from Japan never uses containers due to the costs involved compared to the ro-ro's.
Although I can understand if it's security, when I find the munchkin in Soton who robbed my gearknob *shakes fist*

Ok quick update, just had a long chat with Jim as he did a walk around the Elk describing all the bits and pieces in detail.

In a nutshell it is as described, completely solid in all the key areas, starts, runs, steers and stops well. He has spotted one bed support that has some rust and would be an MOT fail as it is close to a body mount, so he is going to sort that prior to collection. Other than that he is really happy with it.

Unfortunately that means I can't collect tomorrow which is a shame, but overall it sounds as though it is worth waiting a few more days for biggrin

Pics to follow soon!!!
