Yup, I'll second that. Hour or so on Lee's Hunter alignment kit will transform your car

Wish I'd never heard of the place. Although the guy who tried, unsuccessfully, to carry out my alignment was very good, the tyre fitters were fking idiots.

I'd rather stick my cock into a sack of angry puff adders than leave my car at Supertyres. Back in the day when the original two brothers owned the business and bought one of the first Hunter alignment systems in Essex they usually managed a half decent job but since they split/sold out/retired Supertyres has descended into serious Muppetry that's burned me badly three times.

Now Skidmarques in Hutton has gone down the tubes - I'm not too surprised after leaving my XJ shaking like a stting dog with wheels between 15 and 35 grams out of balance after they threw some new tyres at it - the only reliable choice for a proper job on balancing and alignment I know of in the Essex Badlands is the Tyre Shop in Witham.

Ya pays ya money of course... But I know who gets my business from now on.

Well perhaps other franchises in the chain are terrible but I stand many my recommendation. Have used them for years and I don't mean with fiestas or mondeos.

If I'm honest, have to agree that since the brothers sold it it's gone drastically down hill.
They royally screwed up the 4 wheel alignment on the Maserati, and had another incident with the Discovery that wasn't overly impressive .
Tyres only for me there now.

Supertyres was fantastic when Glen & Jamie owned it.
That's where I met Damien (Skidmarques)
He left Supertyres when it all went to pot after Glen & Jamie sold it. He started up Skidmarques in Hutton. He was always very very good to me and I took my car there lots for tyres and geometry. They went under and Damien started up under the banner of Drive Dynamic in West Hanningfield. Sadly that lasted only a few months before it too went under.

I have since used The Tyre Shop in Witham although not for alignment, they have been okay so far but I agree, good tyre shops are rarer than a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

If someone setup a pukka tyre/geometry shop they would make an absolute killing IMO.
