Hi All

Just noticed that when filling my washer reservoir there is a large puddle on the floor. Have traced it to the black concertina hose but unfortunately the leak is down far enough to be out of reach! Always the way! Does anyone know how to access the end of the hose as it seems to be quite hidden or maybe have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

John

Good Afternoon John,

If I'm not mistaken your water container is a Jaguar part. To access it you need to remove the wheel liner. After that it should be apparent where the leak is coming from.

Best of luck,

Jack

Hi Jack

Many thanks for your kind input. I will give it a try when I get a moment. Is removing the wheel liner a straightforward job or best left to an expert?

Expert. Every bolt was rusted and seized.

Good Afternoon John,

I took my left side wheel liner off my DB9 last night for a few repairs. It took me longer to jack up the car than to do the actual removal process. I'd advise give it a try first before going to an “expert”.

Good luck,

Jack

I've done the wheel arch liner removal several times. It's more fiddly than anything else. It's a good idea to take a few photos to remind yourself of how they're aligned. Also, many cars use two different kinds of fasteners of different sizes so take note of what goes where. Finally, I've done a partial removal in some cases, wrestling the liner just far enough out of the way to access what I need.
It's best to use the correct torx bit than to try to remove the screws with a flat-blade screwdriver wedged-in!
