Whilst I agree with you, the chap isn't wrong. From the beginning of the thread I was wondering when it would crop up!

NarrinRad,thank you for your kind comment.

I was simply stating the fact that it is unwise to take a car abroad without European recovery from one of the major players. The OP did not do this and so far has cost him 230 Euros,£300 and a lot of inconvenience.

I am surprised other people had not mentioned this so made my post as others may not be aware of roadside recovery when abroad and think it is ok if they break down in Italy just to go on the PH forum and they can rely on a member to bring a fan belt to Italy as this may bot always be possible.

I would physically help the OP if I was in a position to do so,applaud the people who have offered and wish him well with the issue of getting home.

Why did you feel the need to point it out though?

Did you think others (including the OP) hadn't considered this and thought it didn't really merit raising due to the obviousness?

What actually was the point of your post?

Guys this is amazing.

The AA have sent a man to me, who of course cannot fix the wheel but they wanted to send him anyway as I am a gold member. I'm not sure he will help the situation so I will make keep you posted. He has offered to take us to the tunnel for 300 euros but not sure if there will room on a train since we are so late and not sure they will let a broken car cross?
No broken cars on the tunnel, they will let you get towed onto the ferry though, just need someone who can recover you at Dover.

Ask me how I know.

Unmitigated bks.

You thought you'd be a smart arse by pointing it out and now that you've been called on it, it turns out you did it from the goodness of your heart. Which I believe is bks.

Most people, including the OP would have realised the cock up at this point, so as others have suggested, it really didn't need to be pointed out and serves no constructive purpose.

Oh and the bit about other people reading this thread and taking it that PH will automatically come to their rescue? Oh please rolleyes

No, what you were really doing was being all forum on a thread where someone was asking for help.

You wanted to look clever, belittle others and make yourself feel a little better. You look like a sad little man, which is probably what you are.
