The topic for this month is:

Noon.

SO - kind of the opposite end of the spectrum from last month. Shooting at midday is often described as a bad idea, with harsh shadows and unpleasant contrast. But I've seen some really nice exceptions to this rule.

Adversity breeds creativity!

Good luck.

Craig.

This thread is for entries AND discussion

Rules:

The photos taken must be your own work
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month.

All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered should be no bigger than 750 pixels wide for a landscape photo and 600 pixels high for a portrait photo due to the PH squash factor. Links to larger versions are permissible.

Not going to lie, was hoping for a slightly larger entry for this topic.

Oh well.

Congrats to you slyeleasar, hope you pick a better topic than I managed too!

Craig.

Is there an August one yet? I did mean to have a go at this but didn't get round to it

slyeleasar hasn't posted for almost three weeks.

If everyone else is OK with it - Craig why not pick another topic so that August isn't a wasted month?

Sounds like a good plan to me. We need to keep this competition going!

Apologies if this is slightly forward from a newbie, but can I suggest that the founder/admin (whoever you may be?) of this competition picks a subject to see us through August. If picked tomorrow it will give everyone 11 days to enter and the simpler the subject the more participants there will be. We can then have an August winner and can start September again properly.

Seems a shame to let a month go by with no competition considering the talent and pictures the past competitions have showcased.

Just my 2pence worth, sorry if I shouldn't be butting in.

(Alternatively, just post picture that apitimise 'your summer' and we'll have a vote between us on the 1st sep. This is very forward for a newbie.)

I agree, it would be nice if one of the regulars. Dibbly? Steve? Rob? could pick a topic for us?

Suggest RainMaker as runner-up wins by default and chooses the subject.
