Help! I was after some advice, my L322 3.6TDV8 broke down about 3 weeks ago, running on only 6 cylinders and heaving out white smoke. Recovered and diagnosed with 2 injectors failed. On changing the injectors the garage found debris in the ports and to cut a long story short after boroscoping all cylinders No 3 piston is all but destroyed and there is scoring on nos 6/7. Diagnosis is a new engine (oh and its only got 70000 miles on the clock, bought from dealer, fully serviced, never towed!). Can I ask the asembled experts a few questions please?
- Realistically can the curent engine be recovered/re-conditioned?
- Any advice on reputable suppliers of re-conditioned engines or companies to re-condition?
- Land Rover Customer service are saying they can't do anything unless I get it recovered to a dealer (currently with a specialist 4x4 garage) but can't guarentee I won't get left with a dealer bill for invest! Anyone had any experience with LR Customer Service?
Thanks in anticipation!

Sorry to hear of your nightmare!

Perhaps ask the question on the Range Rover Sport forum - tjere have been a few reported cases of the TDV8 failing.
