Hi - I've been looking to try one of these cars for a while and finally found a nice looking 09 plate STI 330s. I've had it about 6 months (have to say I love it smokin ) and would like it to have a full service and once over - suspension etc, to see if anything needs doing.

I live near Bury and wonder if there are any garages in or around the area with a good reputation for working on these cars. Happy to travel if needed too.

Many thanks

Prosport in Stockport, Pete still does the odd Subaru servicing, there is no one better or knows these cars as well imho, I used Prosport for over 12 years without fault, 01614329999.

I've used Prosport a few times for both the Subaru's in the family (an old Legacy B4 RSK & a Fozzy 2.5 XT) and Pete obviously knows his stuff, the last thing was changing the PCV because I was scared to take off the intercooler myself.

I also live near Bury and it's a 10 minute walk to East Didsbury Metrolink from Prosport, only slightly further to the normal rail link back to Piccadilly. If you ever do find a more local independent mechanic I'd be very interested, purely from a convenience perspective.

You might consider Adam & Jamie at Autotecnica in Buxton, very impressed by this operation and they are certainly worth a try. 01298 27391.

I would use Andy at Auto A&E in Blackpool. The name might sound a bit crap but he used to work for Prodrive so he knows what he's doing. He does the work on my car. He's a lot better than supposed Subaru specialists such as the Roger Clark Motorsport who charge a ridiculous amount and never solve your problem. He also built his own BMW M3.
