I have recently bought a late 56 plate (updated dash) 9-3 V6 Aero and I'm really enjoying it but it did have a hesitation/stutter when in a high gear/low revs and then putting your foot down. I have read that the coils are a weak point on this engine and chanced that it would be that.
One thing to note is that the engine warning light doesn't go out after 4 seconds when the ignition is switched to the ON position, however it does go out when the engine is running and has not come on while the engine is running. The problem seems more pronounced when it's been running for a while, more or less fine when cold.

I have taken it to a Saab specialist in Bristol and they have said that when they plugged it in it didn't show any faults for the engine. They diagnosed the problem to be the spark plugs and changed all 6, having had it back it's much better with no stutter but I can still feel that it's not completely smooth in the above described conditions. Also the engine light is still staying eliminated when the key is in the ON position.

Car is on 72,000 miles.

Any ideas guys?

Coils are usually the first things to go. Have you got iPhone/iPad with dash command app (not sure what the android app is? Torque??) it should flash up on the app, my no.6 coil went (front bank, closest to battery) no CEL just missfiring as soon as it came on boost.

Is it mapped? They're a bit funny with what plugs to use and the gapping must be correct, same with coils. Best fit genuine Bosch coils. Mines got the JZW tune and he recommends NGK LFR7AiX plugs but not sure what other tuners recommend.

Also worth running a few tanks of Vpower/Momentun so there's decent fuel in there, pulling the battery for 15 mins and then see how it drives. Mine runs dog rough on other 99ron and 95ron is awful in this! So I just fuel with momentum or if I'm up my folks I'll fill up with Vpower (hell of a difference!!!)
