Nimbus does her bit to keep the neighbourhood rodent free. Fortunately she either has much less success with birds, or doesn't bother much with them. Nova limits her hunting to blowflies, moths and an occasional apple (in season), although she once turned up with a barbequed sausage.

That was one seriously brave mouse!
Obviously we were using the machine as well. I did think of mousy with some ear defenders and a little mousy yard brush bashing the side of the machine squeezing "keep it down!". Time line wise, certainly a week, perhaps more. We always kept the biscuits by the machine so no real issues when the coast was clear, water there as well. Not sure if it took the soft food.

It was detergent and rubber gloves though and bin the lot after cleaning up what I could.

My dad lived on Harris in the Hebrides and apart from many rabbits and mice he had a cat that used to swim out to the salmon cages behind his house and eat any dead ones floating! He also had a cat drag a dead heron (!) through the cat flap one New Year's Eve! Now I'm pretty sure it was one that had been killed flying into electricity wires, but it was a pretty impressive sight. My poor Aunt who was visiting, nearly expired on the spot, as she isn't keen on cats at the best of times.
