Hi Chaps,

I'm off to do a track day at spa later this year and as I've not been before was after some advice / recommendations on where to stay?

Thanks in advance.

www.hotel-de-la-source.com close to the track but not much to do in the evening easy parking

http://www.radissonblu.com/palacehotel-spa 10 minutes from the track nice hotel , lots of nice restaurants to eat at in the evening within walking distance / hard to park car & trailer

Having stayed at Le beausiteon many occasions I can thoroughly recommend it too. Nextbdoor to the hotel there is also Le Ranndonear run by Jan &Suzanne, a ditch couple with perfect English and Jan is is pretty good Chef as well.

Not sure how well known it is but there is an old railway line linking from just outside right into francorchamps itself, great for walking to and from the circuit if you leave the car there of an evening

If like me you think that paying £100 p/n for a room for one is excessive then you will find some much more affordable options on the usual booking sites and even more choice on the F1 promoting peer to peer BnB network (last month I paid €50 p/n for a superb new apartment in central Spa).

We always stay in a B&B in Malmedy which is 7kn from the circuit, really nice and a number of restaurants in the town square for the evening.

Hotel St.Gereon, Malmedy:

Hi,we too are adding up the cost of spa next year.

We live near chester,so would get the hull ferry...so 90 quid in diesel to get to hull....300 for each trackday and 120 fuel for the evo per day

Can anyone shed some light on other costs...(im guessing total with fuel and trackday, food etc etc best part of 2 grand for 2 days)??

1. Ferry crossing for 1 transit van and 1 trailer with car on back?....4 people total
2. Petrol costs from ferry drop off to spa?
3. Garage at spa...ive heard they are crazy expensive?
4 any other costs i might get stung for

thanks for any info

We went for the Spa24h and then a trackday on the Monday back at the end of July.

Costs for a VX220 Turbo

Spa24h tickets: £60
Spa Trackday - Lotus on Track: £220
Garage LoT: £60
Tunnel: £120 Return
Petrol: £60 / budget £120 return
Hotel St. Gereon in Malmedy (7km from circuit), 88 euro's a night including breakfast, two of us sharing so 44 euro's per person per night
Ate in Malmedy at one of the restaurants in the town square each evening circa 20 euro's food + beer

Not sure of costs for a transit but I hope that gives you some idea.

Others stayed in Stavelot in a B&B there, so similar costs, they ate in restaurants there.

Endurance (old) pit boxes are between £40 and £80 per day. F1 pit boxes are generally between £120 and £200 per day. Most TDO's operate days out of the endurance pits.

The F1 pit boxes are massive and you can easily get 4 cars in one box arranged two at the front and two at the back.

Fuel at the circuit is expensive but there is a sometimes open Total station outside the circuit and stations in Spa and Malmedy all are more reasonable take empty jerry cans to fill up with.
Generally fuel is cheaper per litre than in the UK so if budget UK prices for the trip you will not get a nasty surprise.

If you stay at a large hotel rather than a B&B underground / secure parking is generally charged for at €10 per day.

I'm also planning a visit to Spa next year. Apart from hotels and B&B, can you camp at the cct. the night before?

Yes, there are often people camping in the area near the roundabout here

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Circuit+de+Spa...

Never done it myself, don't know what facilities are available, and the ground is not level.
