So having just ordered a new F80 M3 I was stuck on what colour to go for. Originally it was going to be Mineral White, then I was worried white was going to be too flash for when I'm out pitching to clients. However I really liked the contrast between the light colour scheme with the carbon roof and black wheels. So I then decided on Silverstone ii. I went to see a few cars in the 'flesh' on the weekend and I just felt this colour was too blue and not as silver as I was expecting. Sorry to the purists as I know this is one of the popular original M3 colours but for me it's a bit too blue rinse...

I then saw the Azurite Black and Tanzenite Blue individual colours. AMAZING! I've swapped my order to Azurite Black based on it being mainly black under flat light which turns into a deep blue under direct light, I've paired this with a Silverstone interior to add contrast.

I decided the Tanzenite was too blue from photos I saw on the web.

Any other thoughts/opinions/findings with the different colour schemes?

I agree that Azurite Black is absolutely stunning, but Tanzanite Blue is too - it looks much better in the metal than in photos. Well worth trying to find a car to have a look at it.

I saw a tanzanite blue M3 a few weeks ago in a dealer and it looked stunning but I think it comes into its own under the showroom lights or bright sunlight. In low light, it just looks dark blue and there's not much contrast with the roof as you say. I originally went for it but then decided on Silverstone and then decided I didn't like the blue hue that it has. I then saw an M4 in Moonstone and that was it, search over. Amazing colour.

Yeah. Moonstone is perfect but they're not offering it any more...
Do you have pics or are you waiting on delivery?

You can still get it but you have to pay for "individual" paint which is about £500 more than azurite black. Here's a pic of a moonstone M4 from a BMW press pack and it's pretty representative of the real thing (to my eyes anyway!)
I have only just ordered mine and it could be up to 18 weeks because of the paint.

Sounds like a plan. Which colour? My dealer said 6 weeks extra but I think they might have been trying to manage expectations and the actual delivery date's not confirmed yet.

Morning all, I went for the special request and waited an extra month. Was going for silverstone at first, but the extra cost of this above an individual colour wasn't that bad (dealer pic):

When I had decided on an M4 I was adamant that I wanted a coupe in a subtle colour (ideally grey) with a black interior.

So picking up my yas marina/silvertone cab on Friday .....

I've ordered mine in MW as I've never had a white car before and I think it looks good with the carbon roof. Sakhir Orange interior.

I saw Mission Impossible last night and the M3 gets a good hammering. I was trying to work out what colour it was, it looked Silverstone one minute and Moonstone the next...? anyone know?

Having seen plenty of pictures on the new M3 / 4 I was of the opinion that they didnt look much different to the others out there BUT then on Friday I followed a "Liquid Gold" coloured M4 with some nice carbon bits dotted around mainly the rear spoiler - It changed my opinion as it looked very nice indeed and the colour just popped in the sun. Way better than any picture I`ve seen. Nicely set off the black wheels.

Two unusual ones for you (although there are now several San Marino Blue ones now around the country, but I spec'd the 1st one last year)

cost circa £1500

Or Audi Venetian Violet (similar to Techno violet which they wouldn't do or some reason)

cost £3k

Does anyone have more pictures of this Venetian Violet F80 M3 or have a link to other pics of this car?
Thanks!

Have a look on here for Individual Colours:

Basically every colour BMW offer...

My personal favourite is the Grigio Telesto, but it's too expensive. I plan to order an M3 or M4 CP later this year in San Marino blue as it's £1700 extra.

How much is Grigio? That's the colour of my M3 but I don't know how much it was as I bought it pre registered.

If you want nice but understated then it has to be Silverstone II, I had mine ordered in it originally but decided it was just too normal and opted for Sakhir Orange.
