I would have thought your first port of call would be Southampton FC website

First of all the match is actually Southampton vs Man City rather than the other way round.

Secondly I presume you want tickets in the away end (ie in with the Man City supporters?).

In that case you'll need to buy them through Man City as Southampton will provide them with an allocation of 1500 or 2000 or what ever.

If Man City are anything like my club they will first allocate tickets to away season ticket holders. Then there will be a member's pre sale where each member will be able to buy one or more ticket. Then after that period, if there are any left, they go on general sale.

None of this will happen until a few weeks before the actual game. And you'll need to get hold of the grandfather's membership card. And it probably won't be a surprise as he'll probably get an email notification. And you may have to buy a second membership if his only allows you to buy two tickets.

Anyway that's the basic mechanics - I suggest you call the Man City box office and ask them how you could buy 4 adjacent seats using the grandfather's membership. They'll advise you as to what is possible.

EDIT; if you're happy to sit with the Southampton fans call the Southahmpton box office. But you won't get in with colours and may well get plenty of abuse if you let slip you're Man City

Southampton will class Man City as a Cat 1 game. I would say your chances of getting a single ticket are somewhere between zero and slightly below zero.

That shouldn't stop you trying.

Speak to a Spurs fan. When it comes to knowing nothing about football and buying tickets to attend, they are the world experts.
