I'm replacing the rear clam shell of a 2005 111S , getting hold of a genuine rear clam is a nightmare. All I can get is a 8-12 week waiting on this part that I'm told by Lotus suppliers needs to be made from scratch.

The main Lotus supplier has a Rear clam in stock that looks as if it is exactly the same as the current one, but I'm told by the garage because it's for 2004 model it won't fit this 2005 111S, but I'm pretty sure the shape of the rear clam bodywork did not change from when the 111S was first introduced in 2002 through to the 2005 model which I have?

Does anyone here have any information to confirm this? As I really don't fancy waiting 3 months over the summer for repair when there's a part in stock that could fit..

Thanks in advance for any help!

PS. for reference the part number for the part that they have in stock that allegedly will only fit 2004 and not 2005 Elise is D117B0017K

May be worth a post in SELOC - lots of useful knowledge over there (including the guy recommended above) thumbup I think the clams are the same but could well be wrong. Your current one not repairable?

Hi

The Toyota clam will fit the Rover Elise but not the other way around. We dont actualy make the rears new but I have a couple of second hand ones in that might do the job if you are struggling these are Toyota ones. The only difference is in the boot floor shape.

I'm jonnyboy on seloc anyway another chap Junks is also good for this sort of thing and is a top man to boot.
