Which reminds me that my last three cars have been utterly boring but very reliable. Most modern transport seems to be the same too, except specialised machinery. My daughter has the latest Fabia Estate and it is bland but should do for ten years or so, just like her Jazz before it. I emphasise that I only want reliable motoring from the daily transport so am now on my 3rd car in 23 years, and all have been staid Mercs. The W124 230E, bought privately four years old with 12,000 on the clock lasted 10 years and cost not a lot in maintenance or depreciation. Likewise a C220 estate that went past 250,000 in 12 years with no worries, and now a W204 200 estate bought a year old two years back which I expect to do the same. But in no way can they be considered interesting but just plain boring transport, if cheap overall. I expect most of you find the same with your daily car, unless it is both your daily and fun car.

Honda Civic EM1 Coupe...
The original B16 had been removed in favour of a B18 along with LSD gearbox from a JDM Integra Type R.
Was really quick but I noticed blue smoke on day two of ownership...
In and out of the garage trying to fix it to no avail.
Eventually took the plunge for an engine rebuild with slightly larger pistons etc. Even quicker now.
First big journey, it drops it's oil all over the M1. Back to garage, new seal fitted.
Fine for a week or so. Water pump starts dripping. New water pump fitted.
Starts overheating now. New radiator fitted. Got fed up and sold it.

It was a quick and exciting car that looked cool to these eyes, but I could never make the most of that due to problems getting in the way! Therefore, the most boring car I have owned.
