Poole Quay for my car Friday 14th August
Discussion
Who else is going this year? I have seen the event posted about on Facebook but nothing on here yet (where it originally started).
Friday 14th August is this year's date. As per previous years start time will be evening. If anyone has further details please post up, just thought I would start the ball rolling on here too.

I went last year with two others from the West Midlands, lovely drive down then the heavens opened and didn't stop till about 5 miles from home.(Still enjoyed it though)
Have already spoken to one of them and is up for it again and so am I,sorry I don't have any info regarding the event.
I would think we will keep to our times as last year leaving at about lunch time and arriving just before 5pm. We met at a location just up the road and then left in convoy when they closed off the street for all but TVR.
All worked very well apart from the rain but won't stop us doing it again.

Thanks for posting up the date by the way Calvin as like you I hadn't seen anything. We came down the back route via A44 A34 Didcot Newbury etc so could of been just in front or just behind you.
I will post on the club site WWM region to see if I can gather a few more than the three of us last year.
I'll keep you updated on here on the numbers and times etc.
Thanks again for starting the topic.

JAS,
local TVRCC - RO (Ray Harris-Hawkins) advised "As far as we know, the event ‘Quay For My Car’ is going to go ahead, on Friday 14th August. We usually meet up at Baiter Point, which is along from the Quay; at 5.30PM and we go in procession along to the quay, usually at a 5.50pm."
I'd need to get a map out to see exactly where it is, but thought i'd post it for info purposes.

Hello Graham,
I met with Ray last year at the Baiter park along with about a dozen of us,if that's going to be the meeting point again then I know exactly where it is.
Ray posted on the Dorset club forum last time so will keep my eyes peeled and will put a forum post on the WWM region.
Thanks for posting the link...

Not getting any response on my thread I put up on the club forum Midlands region,so as it stands at the moment there are just two of us that will be attending.
Ray has done a good job posting and spreading the word around the club forums but for many I guess the distance and it being a Friday is not helping for those that are not close.
On a positive note..... I did a long range weather forecast and it's looking like it will be dry and sunny
Will give my thread a bump next week... And will be at Baiter meeting point hopefully around 5pm.

Just a heads up. I have just come back from the Channel Isles using Pool, there are at least 20 miles of roadworks on the M3 ( 50 mph variable speed cameras). I traveled down from Bucks, and it took me 4 hours. The worst part was from the Ferndown area to Pool, which took me 90 mins with standstill traffic and this was at 1 pm. All Ferry traffic by the looks of things, i hope some of you find an alternative route.

Yup now 36 miles of roadworks makes my drive to and from work on the M3 well boring.I still took on the journey leaving the Midlands at 11.30am in the rain and drove most the way in the rain but arriving in Poole at 5pm after stopping for lunch it pretty much stayed dry.
GriffTuscan (Graham) was there, can't tell from the other profiles who made it but only 30 cars turned out for what was a dry evening from 6-9pm.
Stayed dry for my 159 miles drive home leaving at 9pm and arrived 1am driving the back route to avoid motorways.
Noticed this short clip has been posted to give an idea of the weather https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qK271PhYmhg Several months later Robert normally posts a longer version on the tube.
No pictures sorry.
