Good on him on his road to regaining credibility.

A long road to go but good on him for starting.

I'm not sure I quite believe fully in the altruism here...

Not really. I think you need to read up on why he's there.

Just in case you aren't sure, google Geoff Thomas.

What, like the millions he ran through his narcissistic Pr machine, Livestrong?

Livestrong, in it's entire history gave virtually no money to cancer research. Lance et say that's ok because it's a cancer awareness charity.

Thing is, we're all aware that cancer is a complete bd. How does reminding people that cancer is bad help anyone anywhere? Spose it helped Lance Armstrong, who then used it as a further tool to manipulate people - the general population seemingly gives charity people immunity to scruiting (just look at Jade agoody, who was no less of a fat ignorant racist pig once she's worn a pink ribbon than before she did it).

I don't believe for 1 second that Lance Armstrong is capable of any act that doesn't benefit him as the primary objective. The man is a prize st.

He's not going to regain credibility - or shouldn't - but anyone doing something with genuine good intentions gets a nod from me.

He's not at the Tour, though, and rightly so.

His charity work and fund raising is extra ordinary.
Good on him for doing this. Still a prize prick though but hope the charity does well

He didn't play a large in ruining it. He played a large part in bringing it to the mainstream. Drugs ruined it. All he did was get on board the EPO bus with everyone else.

Or are you one of the Lance haters that has welcomed Contador back with open arms?

I am annoyed at him and myself for believing the story. But it is still a worthy story lets not forget his ilness was not a lie. Also I do think he is being scapegoated and if he was French would he have been treated so aggressively. I also find it funny to see a line through his name in the TDF history books as if he was the only one who doped. Trying to blame Armstrong for all the problems of Doping is just silly the culture has been embedded in the peleton for decades.
Much better to have come out and said we are aware of the doping culture in cycling and we are doing all we can to eradicate it.Instead they tried to say only a few riders have been taking dope.

The main issue fo rme was that he denied taking ANYTHING for so long to the point where it became mantra and a bigger and bigger lie... he self publicised those denials ad infinitum and tried to make out that the media and cycling fraternity had made him into a pariah. So when he defended himself he tried to make him self outwardly look innocent and gain public support as a result - look at me i'm one person against the media and WADA etc woe is me. The biggest punch he got waswhen his own former team mates spoke out and blew the whistle. he was no longer plausibly deniable.

I thought he was a personal hero and he has dropped to (not quite) zero as a result of his publicity campaigns for raising cancer awareness...I don't know where the funds from livestrong get distributed but I bet its intersting reading.

He has no place on the tour and no place in professional sport imho, who he chooses to ride with or who invites him along is up to them but for me he will never remove that tarnish of being a cheat and lieying about it for so long.

all my opinion of course
