Hi all

I've been a long term member of the site, but have finally taken the plunge and booked my direct access for middle of next month! I've had bikes before, but just for across farms etc.

I got a bit carried away last weekend and bought a Honda CBR600 rr as well... Photo below. Talking to a few people and doing some research they seem quite forgiving and hopefully a good fun starter bike!

Anyway thought I would say hello and looking forward to getting into the fold! August can't come quick enough... (Better pass now!)

Cheers

Tim

Welcome and enjoy.

First time you give it some you will need a bigger helmet to fit your smile in biggrin

I'm not sure they do. I have a Honda as of this week (1st bike, must do an intro thread when I'm not at work) and neither it nor me are particularly cool. smile

Good luck OP.

Thanks all!

What are they like for pillion? Also how long do you think I should give myself getting road experience before offering?

Like any sports bike, I imagine it would be utterly miserable for them, and it will slow you down and make the bike handle worse, so you won't want to offer anyway.

You'll be fine with it all if you grew up with bikes across farmland. My old man did the same and pissed his direct access. I was a complete novice and still managed it so you shouldn't have any trouble. Love the Honda - bet you're counting the sleeps down now eh?!

Honda's are the dogs bks.

Especially in black. It doesn't get any cooler than that. Well, maybe Repsol (because that's a lot of black as well) but that's about it biggrin.

Welcome OP and, I fulhartly agree:

It was probably the first time I uttered something along the lines of "motherfkingjezusisthislegal" as well.

Then, after about a year, I swapped it for one with more than twice the displacement and horsepower hehe

Thanks for the welcome all! (Including Biker's Nemesis, you ****! laugh)

Definitely counting down - theory booked for 8th August, Direct Access 18th - 21st August...

2 piece suit should be delivered tomorrow and I'll go helmet/boot/glove shopping soon.

Would any recommend getting any comms? As above I can't see me taking pillion that regularly, but for the times I do it might be handy?

Plenty available. Depending on your riding you might like one with BT to listen some music on long rides out, works a charm.

I'm very happy with the Cardo ones I've got but they weren't cheap.
