I've just picked up a 2000 Peugeot 306 2.0 HDI D Turbo. From my research before buying, the tax should be £145/yr with a 141g/km CO2 output.

However when going to tax it, the Gov website is trying to charge me £230 and I've just noticed on the V5C/2 supplement the car is classed as a private light goods vehicle for some reason. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks!

2000 is before the tax changed in 2001. All cars are plg.

Mad isn't it. I have a 1995 Peugeot 306GLD and a 1997 Mercedes SL320 both have the same road tax £230 and are PLG,

Bonkers! To make matters worse, the insurance is three times the cost to insure my Caterham.
