So we've had most boring, how about most relaxing? Which car chilled you out the most and left you feeling most refreshed at the end of a long/boring journey?

P38 Range Rover

Super high profile tyres, very soft suspension, and seats like old wingbacks with 2 armrests.

Probably too relaxing as you can forget to point it in the right direction.

It has to be the most boring car I owned, (see the other thread) my BMW 330 D Sport. It was quiet, the sports seats were very comfortable so I could travel the length and breadth of the country without even the slightest twinge.

It didn't make it any more interesting though!

I loved my Daimler sovereign s3 the only car I liked piloting around London, got stopped at night once by a barrage of Japanese tourist's who took loads of photos whilst crossing Piccadilly Circus wavey such a lovely waft mobile
The xj40 and x300 I had were also great but the series xj are just special and I will have another one day
If they haven't reached crazy money by then cloud9

ST220.

Not owned many cars. They've all been 1.2, 1.6 and 2 litres. The V6 in the ST220 was just a nice relaxing drive.

My current Lexus GS is excellent in this regard.

Which is helpful, because that's exactly why I bought it.

I'd agree SIII Jag/Daimlers really are the finest places to rest ones posterior, the superb suspension and thin rimmed steering wheel actively encourage you to just sit back and enjoy the ride

Exactly the same car for me! If I had bought a good one I'd still have it today. Unfortunately I bought a bad one (bodywork bad and bodged up to sell) and bailed out before it bankrupted me. Their potential to rust is just phenomenal.

Subaru WRX (blob eye in case that matters)... No seriously. I'm talking on standard 17s with no prodrive kit, just a nice standard car with the cheap cloth seats. So relaxing! Really comfy ride, easy clutch and gear box and pretty effortless torque. I've had three cars which fit that description and spent more time cruising in them than blasting around (which of course they can do as well).

My current Volvo V60 ranks as the most comfortable of all the cars I've owned. It just soaks up the miles and the seats are like armchairs.

Current merc. Big silent v8. Slick box. Air ride. Nice leather.

You have to stop to empty bladders and fill fuel tanks. No other reason.

Mine's a Discovery 4 but same thing applies. Cannot be bothered to break the speed limit and get so lazy steering it with one finger sometimes yields unpredictable results.

I had one of those and it was indeed comfy. Still prefer the 4x4 though so I can look down on people.
