I would imagine Porsche's lawyers would be pretty busy defending them not warranting an engine blow up on the basis of a metal cage fitted to the interior of the car when the car is under the manufacturer's warranty.
Presumably your point is that a "properly specced" club sport packaged 991 RS is worth a hundred and eleventy twelve gazillion pounds on the used market and the car in question only sold for "about £200k" because of the spec?
do I think a full CS spec, is worth more than none CS spec on 991 GT3 RS.......Presumably your point is that a "properly specced" club sport packaged 991 RS is worth a hundred and eleventy twelve gazillion pounds on the used market and the car in question only sold for "about £200k" because of the spec?
Now I know why you bailed.......lol

You might be right. And maybe be an OPC won't do the cage, so apologies if I'm wrong on that but I still don't think it would invalidate the manufacturers warranty if you had one fitted. Bonkers to leave it out in the first place!
Agree with that - this is why I don't think the car was bought to flip - I think genuine change of heart - as I said OPC said an older gentleman bought who wanted to down play the look of the car - no one would spec an RS without a cage if they planned to punt it on APOLO1 said:

Pretty sure Porsche would provide you with an OEM cage if you can demonstrate its going into an RS chassis number and if the OPC sorts it all out and fits it, I'd be surprised if it affected the warranty, especially the original factory one. Still, bonkers to spec it without a cage in the first place!
Not correct, whilst plenty of aftermarket ones available, if you try and add RC to a none CS,( even if OEM) it does affect warranty, went through all this with my comfort spec GT3, in the end just brought another one with CS pack.....RSVP911 said:
hmm it would appear the journo in question has fallen hook line and sinker for dick lovetts sales patter. Not the most balanced piece I've ever read... PR36 said:

Yes same chap but I've never bought a car from OPC Hatfield. Always buy from another OPC as I've always found Hatfield a bit sterile -not sure why. My wife damaged it going past a gritter at 140 leptons and I paid for the damage which I wasn't obliged to do so not sure why she nearly lost her job. With hindsight wish I'd not accepted their offer and bit peeved when I later found out that they have telling people we took the car to a track day. I actually pulled them up on this. Its a shyte sales operation at Hatfield IMO
Just going by what I was told but she loaned you a brand new 991 Turbo S when she apparently did not qualify you properly as a 991 Turbo buyer and as you confirm above you had no intention of buying a car. She was finding her feet as a new salesperson and when the car was returned damaged it caused quite a stink as clearly the £100k jump from an old 997 into a new Turbo was beyond your means (they felt) and she should not have loaned you the car. There are always two sides to a story but the damage certainly caused her a lot of pain at work. What new Porsches have you bought from other OPC's? And is it wise to state you were doing 140 Leptons on an internet forum?? Hmmm I think your view of them is equalled by their view of you so it's mutual!
All you're doing is harming the reputation of Hatfield OPC and coming across like a wker.
