CD player isn't working and is greyed out on screen. If a cd changer has been originally fitted in the glove box then removed would this cause the head unit cd player to not work? It can accept and eject a cd but won't play it, also the radio still works fine.
There is a black plug/lead in the glove box not connected to anything so I wondered if a previous owner had removed an auto changer

Thanks, if i fitted an aftermarket blue tooth/ipod input like the Parrot 9100 or IO2 Play would it work in place of the cd player?
My concern is if the wiring loom for those piggy backs off the cd player loom would there be no sound from those either?

Have you tried resetting the CD player? My CD and nav drives stopped working, found a button press combo that fixed the problem

Went and had another look and decided to take a look inside. I forgot to mention that the driver side speakers also weren't working.
Putting a cd in caused the speakers to pop and and start working on the drivers side.
Took the head unit out and found that it had a penny jammed inside and one of the plugs was not seated in the back.
Sorted those, put it back together and it all works!
Only got the seat belt light and two more injectors to replacerolleyes
