Collected the car in Belgrade and 8 days and 1600 miles later, driving via Croatia, Slovenia, northern Italy, Austria, Germany and Holland....arrived back in the UK. Next hurdle is the IVA test.

Nice, I bet it was a good chance to get to know her. Good luck with the IVA

Yes, it put a smile on my face every minute of the trip and turned many heads. Italian police appeared to be the biggest fans...giving the thumbup on several occasions!

The least interested were the Dutch but then they prefer bicycles!

I took the car for a pre-IVA check over today - the side/marker lights apppear to be an issue but they'll be altered next week.

what did you do with the side lights in the end, and what are you planning to change them to?

Slimline side lights are going to be fitted to the top side of the bottom air intakes. I'll post a picture when they are fitted. Similar slimline rear fog lights have been fitted.

Excellent, just keep an eye on the distance from the outside of the vehicle, at some point if they are too far away they stop being side lights and IIRC that point is only just inside intake openings, although i do believe it has been done before

Thanks for the warning - we reckoned it would be tight but possible.

IVA 'paper chasers' are demanding an exact date of production and exact date of registration. Any idea how I find that out? The Canadian seller can only give me his date of registration which goes with the numberplate.

Thanks - found manufacture date where you said and the date of registration was on the car check report, so now emailed in and awaiting date.
