Hi,
I've stripped out the pressure relief valve to find a grub screw (see photo) - between the spring and outer retaining screw. Is this an attempt to modify the relief valve to create higher pressure or is this a standard fitment?

Can't say I've ever found a grub screw when replacing the spring so unless someone knows for sure, I'd say it was put there to try and increase the spring pressure.
A new spring should do the trick.

Thanks for your quick reply - Not withstanding the various comments that appear on TVR from time to time I thought this seemed a little strange...........

My Griff 4.3 had the grub screw. In effect it just gives the spring a bit more strength.

My 4.3 does not have the screw. It does seem to be something of a bodge - I'm sure you can get stronger / longer springs, and I recall seeing some sort of adjustable set-up once as well.

Just ordered a new uprated one from Rimmer Brothers - I'm not keen on the grub screw set up.
Fingers crossed this, the new oil pump gears and new main/big end bearings will improve the oil pressure situation.....
