nürburgring to stuttgart

Rather than the normal motorway, is there any nice roads from the 'Ring to Stuttgart?

I did a route going the opposite way which took in the Mosel Valley from near Trier nearly up to Koblenz. If you do that though you will have no option but to hit a few Autobahns, I really enjoyed the drive though and a few nice bottles of vino were bought along the way

I did Stuttgart to the 'ring this summer on Autobahns. More fun than it sounds as they were largely derestricted. Didn't take us long at all!
