It's a vast improvement compared to the past its best engine driven pump. Seems much more consistent, problem is I changed the rack at the same time so I'm not 100% sure if it was the rack or the pump that was snagged. I was a bit worried about the noise but the v8 drowns out the pumps whirring quite nicely

Mine was well noisy..Trouble is it was set up to run all the time so the draw on the battery was horrendous...That's why i upped the alternator to 180amp...I did want a switch so that i could turn it on or off..Ideally off if broken down!.
I remember there not being an awful lot of a comparative difference between the old and the new..Maybe a smidge towards the EPS ...Mine was done as a necessity due to the blower taking up the room for the alternator and the PAS pump on the 280i...

I think for a comparative difference you would need to have a EPS steering column assist rather than just the fluid....But then i think with little or no feedback from the steering it would not feel right...Or as a 30 year old sports car should...smile

Why not wire it to the indicator switch? ;^)

Also that's a great article title I shall have to work on something to top that!

Switch a power relay for the EPAS from the fuel pump relay this way the PAS pump only runs for a few seconds on prime but then dont run again till the motor is running wink

I used the warning light connection on the alternator so the pump only comes on when the alternator is charging.
