Got me too, but I was going the other way into Bracknell and it was closed at the Golden Retriever roundabout.

Quick look at the Bracknell Forest BC website when I got to work suggests it is related to upgrading the lights on the Birch Hill roundabout and some resurfacing.

Would have been nice if they had put a sign up the day before - it wasn't like it was a last minute decision.

But then BFBC couldn't really give a t*ss about motorists, unless it is to spoil their day!

Ah, that makes perfect sense - I bet the buses were still running! Wouldn't want to upset a dozen or so bus passengers an hour when you could upset a few hundred motorists in the same time frame!

Bracknell Forest is getting to be a hateful place to live if you have to travel in rush hour!

After they spent 6 months building a roundabout for Broadmoor access (I suppose the councillors live there, if not they maybe should) with single lane traffic followed by the Twin Bridges revisions I was hoping for some respite!

Fat chance! At the end of August when traffic levels are back to their peak after school holidays they plan to upgrade the lights at the Rackstraw junction a few hundred yards from me. What they are proposing suggests that for 6 to 8 weeks (read 10+ in reality) there will only be 1 lane on each road approaching the junction and it will only be possible to turn left or go straight on!

So instead of turning left out of my road then turning right at Rackstraws I will have to turn right out of my road, go all the way past the military college and join the A3095 at the lights after M & S - that will be some queue!

You may want to avoid the area while that is going on.

I think I need to retire or move.
