Hi i'm having what you call a very bad day/year!! about a year ago my car started juddering on the motorway for about 3 miles and the engine light came on. got told it was the dfm exhaust. so had this changed but the light still stays on even when reset. now and agin it also judders but not as bad as before, then it has started smoking loads when you put your foot down. and also in the last few weeks it feels like you have no fuel in the engine when you first start it everyday if a little cold. had new glow plug fitted but problem is still there. anyone who can give advice as i am losing the will to live with this car!!

Best bet is going to be finding a local Saab or Vauxhall specialist near you.
Vaux use the same 1.9 TiD engine.

Or try the Workshop section on UK Saabs. Loads of people on there with Diesel experience.

Hi, I had a similar problem with mine. Turns out the connecting rod on the swirl flaps had come off, and left 3 of them closed or open all the time. This then clogged up something. I think its quite common, may not be your problem but worth a quick look. I ended up driving for about 20 miles in 4th to keep revs high and burn it off.
