Morning.

I've got a slightly older colleague and friend at work who has had a Midas in his garage for as long as I've known him. That's about 10 years or so and we've discussed putting it on eBay several times but never quite got round to it! He's got his own account now but still needs a hand to unearth and wheel it out for some photos. Got me thinking to ask on here whether eBay would be the best place or not? I can't see any others on there at the moment.

Are they particularly popular or sought after at the moment?

Any recommendations?

There are a few Midas owners who are also PHers.

I would suggest http://midasownersclub.co.uk as an initial starting point

I find that club owners tend to be quite tight with their wallets and the problem with EBay is too many trigger happy bidders who are not man enough to go through with the deal.

How about Car and Classics. The listing is free and the coverage extensive.

Always liked the Midas.

You really need to get some pictures up online

The various Midas at the moment are really really good buys as you can pick them up for a song which your mate won't want to hear really but they really should be going up in value very shortly if not now. There's a vast variety of cars out there from dire straits condition ones to really very good. They are superb cars to drive and make cracking little sprint cars too. I've would up with more than one and hope to be going racing shortly with one of mine.

Best place to sell them? Well I'd certainly post something on the owners club site as there are people looking to buy on there but some folk do seem to think that you'll go and deliver the car to them so they can kick the tyres.

I for one will buy a car if I say I will. I've always turned up and paid up and taken the cars. Not every one messes people around, sadly it only takes a few to leave a bad taste behind and there are certainly a few.

I'd also recommend speaking with Alistair Courtney at Midas cars. he will give you an honest opinion and I'm sure will also point you to a potential buyer and or keep you in mind when people are looking to buy a project car too.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for not acknowledging sooner - for some reason the subscribe to thread didn't work.

Speaking to the guy again today and it turns out its a Midas Gold. It was also a demo car back in the day and he has some magazine articles about it. Should come in handy.

He thinks he had some bits off Alistair Courtney in the past too so he said he'd try and get in touch. I'll get round to giving him a hand to organise some pictures at some point. Preferably before 2025!

I've got access to a car trailer if needs be too.
