As the title suggests, does anyone have them? I've just got myself a tablet and seen that newsstand have a good selection of magazines including American ones that I'm interested in. I've always preferred to have the physical copy of the mag but it's sometimes hard to get the American ones over here. Does any one rate digital copies?

Thanks
Wilksy

I'll be honest I struggle with the notion of paying for digital content, and I say that as someone who has a couple of magazines delivered every month that often never even get unwrapped and read before going in the bin because of the space they occupy.

If it means you're more likely to read them then go for it I say - and yes it does make it much easier to access global content where there are regional differences.

I subscribe to Autocar and Octane. Not as good as having the hard copy but better from a point of view of always having easy access to all back editions.

Might be worth asking at your local public library as many offer free e-subscriptions to popular magazines (my local one does loads through an app called 'Zinio').

Try Readly.
You can try it for free for a trial period and then£9.99pm.

It's great with loads of choice in magazines including American ( you can filter by country). I find I'm using it more and more and enables me to read stuff that I might not normally buy.

I've just subscribed to Readly, and cancelled a couple of 'paper' subscriptions that nearly covers the cost.

Instead of flicking through mags like Autocar, Autosport and CAR on WHSmith's shelf and buying a couple of issues a year you can read them with the app for 'free'.

I'm planning on subscribing to GQ this week - includes 12 print issues, 12 free digital editions and various OSMO hair styling products worth £33 alone...all for £29.90.

Because I'm worth it...

I'm thinking the same. Very impressed with this, you can get all the back issues too.

Everything I subscribe to is digital, switched about 18 months after the iPad launched and magazine publishers had digital issues working well enough. I was travelling a lot at the time and it was far easier and I'd get the issues quicker than the next time I was home. Cheap American magazines is a bonus too.

I've gone back to a print sub for Singletrack though, just because they print on lovely paper and I enjoy it. They're a great example of doing digital well - things like having all of their back issues available as PDFs to subscribers is a really nice touch.

Not heard of Readly, looks like they have enough that I'd easily get £9.99/month of value out of it.

There's a Groupon offer for 50% off a Readly subscription, so $29 for 6 months instead of $59.99. Not sure if available in the UK, but worth a look.

I have 2 digital motorbike magazines subscriptions. This saves me a lot of money as I don't need to pay for the international subscription. Plus you can delete and re-download previous editions as you go.

Also try Readr. Free trail, £6.99 a month I think and has loads of magazines. Motoring mags such as Evo and Octane are on here too, as well as U.S. mags.

How do you create an account on Readly?? When i open the app it is just asking for log in details, no options to open an account....

Never purchased magazines on a regular basis for years now.
Quick google of pdf magazines brings a vast choice.

I get National Dragster magazine (the NHRA's fornightly magazine) via electronic copy and it works very well. You can either use the online reader or download the PDF.

I get my only UK based magazine (Flyer) in paper form though I'd be happy with it electronic if I had and used a tablet.
