How does everyone else rate the feel of the brakes in their car? I find that my car has dead travel of probably over an inch and that initial bite is very poor.

Jetstream have had a quick look, everything is properly bled up and the correct pads are in etc..

The ultimate stopping power is there but it needs some force.

Has anyone else had this and did you resolve it?

I am going to get Jetstream to look into it a bit more thoroughly at the next service at the moment I end up braking way too early to compensate for the lack of feel.

Any pointers appreciated.

if by lack of feel you mean the brakes are a bit wooden, I would say that is about right

Maybe the pedalreturn spring has become stretched over time?

Mine's the same, but my Mercedes co. car has a similar feel and you get used to it.
Test drove a BMW the other day, and nearly went through the windscreen.

Sorry,slow reply.

Not so much wooden, just that it feels like a disproportionate amount of pressure is needed to slow the car. I inevitably end up slowing too much to be on the safe side.
