On the other hand, I had cause to use an ecotricty charger last week (I charge at home 99.7% of the time) and the bustard thing was offline.... Rubbish.

OP, I had a Leaf on the 7 day test drive last December and easily managed my 60 mile each way with lights and radio on. It was showing 98 mile range when setting off and approx. 18miles remaining when I got to work. I used a public charging point near to work. It had been in for nearly 18 months and I was the first person to use it! This is in Sheffield.
I used the pre heater facility so nice and warm when I got in the car then put in on a low fan speed and 21-22 degrees. range only affected by 1-2 miles using that system.
If I wasn't doing 20k+ miles a year I would definitely buy the Leaf.

Been looking at buying 2nd hand, just got to see if figures stack up and also any long tern ownership issues compared to leasing.

OP, a colleague in work drives his Leaf 80 miles a day, charging in work and at home. I've travelled with him several times and the car is very useful on the motorway and the drive up the Valleys on the way to work.

Cross posting so sorry about that.

To end the story - Lived with the Leaf for a week and took it to work three times. stopped en route to rapid charge and hit some emails on my phone whilst I waited. If anything, knowing that i might need to top up on the way made me leave the office a little sooner so it wasn't actually any extra on my commute. Leaf is so much more of a nicer place to be. (though it was tempting when the Renault dealer offered my a new iZoe for £7,500!!!!) so ordered a Tekna Leaf.

My brother in law did the same! smile pleased as punch. Good deals well i think. My brother in law's deal in brackets.

24 months for both £750 deposit (nil), 25k pa (8k pa) £266pcm (£204).

And the protection pack for £75.

Nissan seem to have just recently teamed up with Rolec for their installs/cables. Type 1 to type 2 cable for £136 and a tethered 7.2kw wall charger install for £195.

Delivery in September. smile

Thanks all for your comments, Tuan.
