Hi Guys

I have a couple questions concerning the factory twin-tank system installation - there is a box with a ALOT of parts, and I just want to make sure I am doing things the right way:

I have the basic layout from the build manual, and think I know where everything goes (in what order), however, I have questions concerning the installation to bulkhead:

1) How are the 100-micron and 10-micron filters held in place on the bulkhead? They do not have any holders/brackets attached to them?

2) How is the HP pump held onto the bulkhead? There are 4 rivnuts, and 4 bobbins included in the kit. Do the bobbins insert into the rivnuts to install?

3) The HP pump kit also includes: 2 anodized fittings, a black fitting (??), 2 copper washers, 1 larger copper washer - what are these for?

Also, if anyone has pictures of the factory Ultima system install, please post - most the pictures I have found are not clear enough to see the types of details I am looking for..

Thanks

Difficult to know what you are missing but I'm sure the mounting brackets are in there somewhere.
It is logical the rivnuts fit to the GF and the bobbins into them.
Again difficult with the fittings but most of those pumps will have something like an M14 thread for the inlet and M12 for the outlet. If the fittings you have are male to male adaptors then they and the copper washers fit to the inlet and outlet of the pump so the the aeroquip style fittings will adapt to the pump.

1) They are attached by cable ties onto rivetted plastic eyes.
2) Yes thats right. 4 rivnuts, then screw bobbins in the rivnuts.
3) I think if you have a Bosch 044 pump (silver metal unit) you will have a "banjo" fitting on the outlet, and on the inlet you may have been supplied a reducer fitting. I think copper washers go one either side of the main pump, then one more where the reducer fits on.

Sorry I don't have any pictures that will help you, its pretty tight in there with the pipework and other stuff fitted.

Here are a few pictures from my build - hope they help.

Only the pump had a bracket - I attached the filters using tie-wrap blocks riveted to the bulkhead.

Nice pics of the lay-out. I assume it's for an LS7.

Those pics are great!! Thanks!

The kit supplied now is slightly different: There is no link between the two upper tank links (Ultima supplies little fittings to block those ports). However, I am thinking to still link the two uppers, and have a common air vent - is that a good idea, or should I leave it as factory with individual vents on each tank?

Yes - although my build was a few years ago (finished it October 2009), so maybe a few things have changed now...
