Hi guys,

Once again we've failed to get to the travel agents in time (closed at 5pm today, we get there at 5:05...), so I said I'd plumb the knowledge here instead smile

We're looking for a holiday in the October half term (last week in October); short haul as only got a week; wife likes laying about doing nothing in the shade; daughter (will be 2 weeks shy of 14 then) and me like a bit to do - so a half decent water or theme park, coupled with watersports - windsurfing, snorkling, jetski. Most of which suggests the Med rather than the Canaries.

Not the faintest interest in night life or drinking lots of alcohol.

Budget £2k to £2.5k (for flights and hotel, spending money extra), half or full board - we usually end up picking hotels by the food reviews!

We're toying with Crete - we went there on honeymoon 15 years ago, and liked it - but really have no idea of what's good where these days.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Tenerife. Las Americas. Got everything you and daughter could want plus "guaranteed" sun

Been to Tenerife. Did like, except for bloody rip-off taxi drivers. Atlantic = chilly, though?

Can recommend here

No jet ski but everything else. Food is excellent and it's about £800 a head.

Been three times but in May.

Fuerteventura would be ideal that time of the year. Good for windsurfing as well.

To be fair, I wouldn't fancy driving around tenerife much, it's complicated and badly signed; neither would I mind paying a fair price to be taxied to where we ask...

Have a wet suit already, may as well drive 15 mins down the road to the beach rather then flying somewhere that still has cold water! Med's much nicer for snorkeling too.

I would have thought Tenerife would have been a bit chilly in October?

Have you considered Egypt. Cheaper when you get there and guaranteed sun.

Ah well, we've signed up fro Crete again smile

Might try a bit of scuba this time, as I've started using contact lenses since last time I had the opportunity, so I might stand a chance of seeing what I'm doing with a mask on.
