You can connect an Android device to your SonosNet directly which is perfect for me as I don't have wifi outside, yet I have SonosNet coverage.

The problem is I only have Apple devices - are there any work arounds to connect Apple to SonosNet?

What devices and to do what? There should be no issues connecting apple devices to Sonos, to control Sonos
If however you want access to your router/network thru Sonos I've not heard of anything.

Apple lock down the wifi chip so no it is not possible to connect an apple device directly to the sonos mesh. I would either get a wifi extender or a cheap android tablet.

Thanks, I've done a lot of googling and come to conclusion that it's impossible. Just been to Argos and bought a £59 Alba tablet that I will use as a dedicated Sonos remote for outside.

I did buy a wifi extender but I couldn't get the thing to work. I think it was actually a wifi hacker as it broke the wifi password!

Sometimes Apple are frustrating. Insti love my old CR200 controller but it's got a cracked screen and I don't want to pay the £250 they seem to sell for on eBay.

The Sonos Apple App can only connect to Sonos via your wifi not directly to SonosNet (the Sonos Mesh network)

I get zero wifi coverage outside, but because of the way the SonosNet works with it's mesh system, I can use the Sonos box outside but just can't control it due to lack of wifi!

The Android device I have just bought can link into SonosNet so I can use that to control the system via the Android Sonos app. It has an option to connect to wifi or SonosNet in the menu. Using SonosNet, I get full signal coverage outside.

ETA - the Sonos mesh system bounces signal from one box to the next creating a wider 'mesh' coverage. Wifi (in my house) is from a signal point which doesn't reach the garden. Hope this now makes sense

Sorry of course I'm being stoopid . For some reason I was thinking the app connected to mesh, but it doesn't it just connects to the router. Ignore me just hada blonde moment

You can plug an extender or access point into the back of your Sonos kit which will provide wireless from it. I use an Apple Airport plugged into a Sonos bridge to cover the back of my house as the Sonos has great coverage but the normal wifi doesn't reach from the front room and cabling it would be a mess. Sounds like it would work for you too?
