not had anything yet - not really expecting to, even though they said they would!

I'll maybe make some enquiries next week

His arrest maybe opened up a whole can of worms of fraud and id theft ~ a lot more investigation and charges. Doubt it will be done with quickly.

Just picked up a voicemail from the police. He's being charged with 4 counts of theft and one charge of going equipped. Court date set for two weeks time and I'm unlikely to be needed based on the strength of the evidence! They expect him to plead guilty, because that's exactly what he did when questioned.

Keep you posted.. wouldn't imagine the punishment will be enough for my liking, but we'll see.

Noice. 5 charges is sure a hell of a lot better than the initial response you received. You should go then you can hear first hand what this turkey has to say for himself, and possibly even see him be sentenced.

Good job, although you may want to move house before he comes out of prison.

Any idea if I can look up upcoming court cases? Or at least check outcomes?

I'm kind of expecting the police to get in touch with me after, but I'd like to have a look.

Magistrates court lists are not published in advance (unlike Crown Court lists), however the list for the day hangs outside each court room in every Magistrates court and it's public, except youth cases which are not published.
You can walk into any Magistrates court and watch cases from the public gallery (except youth cases).

I believe the above is correct.

Good to know, thanks!

Think I'll give it a miss and see if the police update me

May I suggest installing one of these...

Just don't forget that you have armed it when checking the mail..

As the victim, do you feel justice has been done?

his losses are greater than mine, so yes, definitely.. more than enough.

Although my suspicion is that he was not acting alone, and also that there is a lot more history here with losses that my neighbours have felt. I would like to think there was more effort going in to the overall investigation of how he got keys, who was acting on the information he got, was he also involved in the previous issues going back years and years? Who else was he stealing from?

Unfortunately i'm aware that the police will just have acted on the information they got and the case will now be closed.. That's the way it is!

I'll still be setting up the camera again, as i don't seem to be getting a lot of mail at the moment! biglaugh

It's a good result. He'll get pinched again and the sentences will get longer.

Just because you didn't see a house of cards falling through this bloke getting charged doesn't mean that good intel was sourced and may have provided good leads for more action to follow.

I think fantastic result.

Well done to the police for seeing this through. I like the suspended sentence. I dont want to see mail thieves in prison while rapists and killers roam free
