My personal favourite isn't related to cars but to the Indian Motorcycle company.

In my eyes, advertisement done right.

Somewhere out there is a Volvo 850 advert with a driver screaming "I'm a control freak!" as he prepares to drive over a ravine on rails. I can't find it so here's he Continental Tyres advert that's stayed with me forever instead:

Can't believe nobody's posted the R8 V10 advert yet. So simple but so effective:

The Shell/Ferrari advert with the F1 cars is pure motoring porn:

Volvo's truck advert featuring Jean Claude Van Damme was quite memorable too:

I also love the old Peugeot 206 advert. Very cleverly done and it's stuck in my mind since it first came on TV:

Goes without saying that Honda make some of the best adverts too - including these two gems:

As a kid I knew Layla as he Vauxhall tune. I think I was about 17 when I figured out it was Clapton.
Heres my favourite 405 advert. Car driving past fields, st blowing up, 80's ballad. Fantastic:

For sheer advertising power I don't think anythin will come close to Nicole/Papa though. I think we may have actually turned the channel over to wait for the first showing

Some great adverts already mentioned. Two of my particular favourites are;
Honda's Impossible dream - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FmXjxdDBRI
BMW "Joy" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR4wkZM9Zis

I like SAAB so this is probably of little surprise. I've written the bulk of it out in case the picture appears even more fuzzy here:
"In a recent magazine advertisement, a car manufacturer claimed that one of its high performance models could out accelerate a Ferrari from 50-70mph in top gear.
Impressive stuff, and an excellent test of engine flexibility and the power needed to overtake long vehicles.
But for those puzzled as to why they didn't include in their comparison a turbocharged SAAB 9000, the table opposite gives a fuller picture."
50-70 mph figures in top gear:
SAAB 9000 2.3T: 5.6s
Lamborghini Diablo SE: 6.3s
Porsche 928 GT: 6.5s
Lotus Esprit S4: 6.8s
Aston Martin DB7: 7.1s
BMW M3: 7.1s

This early 1990s Ford advert remains one of my favourites. I'm not a big Queen fan, but I like how May's track was reworked to suit the advert. I'm sure it's cheesier than a cheesy thing by modern standards, but it has some great shots in it. The cut with the Escort being moved onto the transporter is one I particularly like.
The Peugeot 206 advert mentioned above would be my other pick. I remember that one airing on TV.

I remember that. And bought Brian Mays solo album. This early 1990s Ford advert remains one of my favourites. I'm not a big Queen fan, but I like how May's track was reworked to suit the advert. Even more cheesetastic was the RS2000 advert. A shame the car was never seen as worthy of the badge, the advert is pretty much Rocky IV
