I filled the tank on Thursday morning with 99 octane momentum, drove the car home 4 miles and it's sat since. Went to use the car yesterday and about 10 miles into my journey it started to stutter. It seems to idle fine but is distinctly unhappy under load. Curious if anyone else has had an issue? Or would bad fuel manifest itself far quicker than 15 miles down the road? Car is a 2006 BMW Z4.

It was 03:00 so the forecourt was deserted with no signs of a delivery lorry.

I used it Saturday and have had no issues, regularly use their 99RON. Hard to say if it would be the same batch though.

I never use supermarket fuel, not even in my van if I can avoid it. Remember the last disaster Tesco had with it. Shell V power only for me.
So in answer to your question. Yep based on their history, dodgy fuel is certainly possible.

Falsely accused me thinks - car is now fine. Must have been having the proverbial funny 5 minutes.

I filled up my Impreza using the 99 On Sunday and all is good. I usually fill up using Shell but the petrol station in Wickham is shut for a refit.

The Impreza is very sensitive about fuel and can only run on 99+ because of the mapping and its been absolutely fine.

Good point, where else locally are people getting decent fuel?

Like you guys, I also struggle with the 20vT's (S2 and Rally Quattro), both run on pretty much anything you'll feed them, but both wear their hearts on their sleeves and boost later and less strong on poor fuel, especially on high ambient temperature days... I brimmed the S2 on Tesco Super UL least month and it ran like bag of nails, especially when first started... The rally quattro has also felt like it was running a bit off lately, right up until I fillled it up with Shell Ultima , and bingo, it was back...

When the thread title came up originally, I went straight to it based on recent experience... But I think 50% of my issue is age of fuel and 50% is false economy based on having Tesco fuel save... (which finishes soon!).
