Slight blood in phlegm

Anybody else had this? I feel phlegm at the back of my throat, I got a bit up this morning and it was tinged with blood. Non smoker.

Im not a doctor but I have experienced this before.
It is either nothing or something so there is no easy answer but when I called the out-of-hours surgery with the same query for a relative I was told to see a GP straight away and it turned out to be good advice

Probably nothing but go to the doctors anyway. One of the things they always ask about if you've got chest problems as it can indicate lung cancer, but probably a whole host of other conditions as well.

Must say throughout the diagnosis of my respiratory issues at the start of the year (Sarcoidosis) I was always getting asked if there was any blood in my phlegm, there never was, except one morning having a good old hack after cleaning my teeth there was and I freaked out for a minute.... only to realise my gums were bleeding a little from a presumably over vigorous teeth cleaning session.

Can happen if you cough a bit too hard over a day or two and/or in my current case have an infection (I have long term nasty lung issues so quite used to it).
